Both Sides of Everywhere

It took me

Over an hour

To leave my house

Because I had

To pluck

An equal amount of hairs

On both sides

Of everywhere

I had to reconcile

Remarks of my mother

And remarks of my father

With remarks of my

Family in law, I suppose

Both sides are right

Both sides are wrong

Everyone is everywhere

I am nowhere,

Stuck in my house

Picking my eyelids

Picking my armpits

Picking my groin

Picking my brow

I can’t leave–

I’m not symmetrical, yet!

I’ll never be, I’ll never be

Pretty, so I might as well

Stay in and

Pluck my hairs until

Both sides are everywhere and

My finger tips bleed
